Illegal aliens

This is a quote that I found on the internet and I would like to share it with all of you.
From World Net Daily:

"It never ceases to amaze us how many people come to America, ostensibly to create a better life for themselves from all the opportunities available here, then try to remake our country through cultural struggle, political resistence and educational reform into an idealized image of what they left behind. Too many illegal immigrants are here not merely share in the "American Dream" and to assimilate, but to take advantage of our patience and generosity to recast America into their own flawed vision based on a witch's brew of ancient myth, race, socialism and a preference for portraying themselves as victims".

I work at a jewelry store and we work with people all over the country and even overseas. The store is Littman Jewelers in the Pittsburgh Mills Mall and it is a nice store. My point is that when we get phone calls from Oregon and New York City and the people we talk to can hardly speak any english and it is frustrating. How would you like it if every time they ask you a question and you have to have them repeat it about 70 billion times. I am frustrated with going to the food court and seeing all of the asian people coming up to me asking if I want to try a bite of their horrible food. Now they have actual speaking english workers doing that. I can't understand why we continue to put up with this nonsense when we can do something about it. We are the United State of America and we have that freedom to tell them off but we are told to act polite because of whatever reason. Well I am not putting up with it anymore.

I am also tired when I have to call for customer service on a specific item such as having trouble with my credit card and I get someone overseas who can barely understand me. I am left on the phone for longer period of time than what it should have taken but no one does anything about this. Why don't companies keep those jobs here in America than shipping them overseas? The answer is that it is cheaper but the bottom line is that those companies are losing out on sales because of Americans not putting up with this anymore.

I feel your frustration when dealing with people who do not speak English well. I too have been in that situation and greatly annoyed.

However, can you really fault the people in the food court. They're just trying to earn a living. Something which we all try to do.

Believe me I understand where you are coming from with the whole frustration thing, but if you had chosen to try and make a life for yourself in another country people would be frustrated with you when you were not able to speak their lanugage correctly.

Immigration, the chance for a better life, is a vital part of what made America the country that it is today. I truly believe that with the freedom we have here, anyone can accomplish everything. Just because they speak a different language then me doesn't mean they shouldn't be given that same chance.

I guess what I'm saying is that while I understand your frustration, and I agree with you there, its important to keep in mind that we can't really lump all immigrants together in one group.

I'm sure some, many in fact, are here not because they want to take jobs away or take advantage, but because they really are trying to make a better life for themselves. Who can fault them for that? When you think about it, that's what we're all trying to do: make a better life for ourselves.

P.S. I happan to like Asian food (just my opinion though, for example I'm never really cared that much for Italian food).

Not to mention that they speak our language a hell of a lot better than we speak theirs...

I can't even take complaints like this seriously anymore in a country where people think that one language for a lifetime is good enough.

Protocol today mandates English as the universal language of business ... thanks to an overwhelming US economy. But if I were younger I would study Chinese ... the next great economy.

Yet 40% of teh country speaks Spanish...hm.

From a business standpoint, Mama has a point. If you were in the sciences, it would be recommendable to know at least German in addition to English; and I think that everybody should know at least conversational French and a little Italian.

It's just good manners.
